    Seventh Poem Of The Zookopolis

Between The Broiling Ball And The Brine

    I have seen the wind
but lack the count in pennies to purchase
    my three-stub ticket to glide:
the tall mast, compass, and sailing cloth.
I'll not have your charity; nay, do not toss
your pockets for this ten-toed sloth
who crawls from stop to stop, humbly,
for I am bound by the name of my father
to honor it with righteous struggle
    and the neck-dwelling bother
    of the self-righteous albatross
    - a bird of my own making -
still, if you must help, then find
    the breeze on thar horizon,
between the broiling ball and the brine,
and bring it back to me
as a yonder moving wonder scene.

Nothing to explain, really ... added a new line (as my poems often tend to be dynamic beasts with no real finality to them). Maybe the new line will assist a bit.

FWIW, I write poems every once in a while so as not to lose the craft to iron oxide.

I wrote this one today because - and just because - I needed to fill the gap between the Sixth and Eighth Poems of the Zookopolis. The Eighth already written somewhere in the ether and waiting for me to discover it.

it would be better to sail rather than ride...more poetically dreamy... I mean before you added the line i was imagining the act of sailing my own ship...
