    California Fires

Got some texts from Fred today, apparently the fires have gotten scarily close to him and he may have to evacuate soon. So you may are may not see him for a bit on the site. He wanted to share a photo he took right out side of his home. Hopefully they can stop the fires and no more lose their homes.

    Heya Bethy,

Thanks for that! Tell Fred we're thinking of him and hope the wind changes and all is well.

    Hi Bethany,

Are you in that area, too. My brother always said straddling the San Andreas was a bit nerve racking.

That's very close, too close. Let's hope to see Fred back on here soon telling us the danger has passed.

Hi Adam, I live in Las Vegas so I just get the smoke and haze from the jet stream. Going to check on Fred today.

    Re: California Fires

    That's good news thanks Bethy

Here in little old New Zealand, on the 6pm TV news report lastnight, showed the fires and very serious from what I saw. I'm used to 'out-O-control' fires from living in Oz...and when that wind with high temps plays it's hand, the ferocity and speed at which it moves is staggering! Iv'e seen melted engine blocks from cars abandoned on the road side...that's some serious heat!

I'm sure Fred and family and others in the community were freakin! and a reminder that these type of climate extreme's are only the beginning. Every year now we are breaking heat records, rain records, Cyclone and Hurricane intensities. Those who think Global warning is nonsense are just plain uneducated.

Say Hi to Fred for me

    Thanks Bethy x

This might not be the best time to make a political point but in the U.S. the climate change deniers are denying their own reality. In a way, it's like UFO cover up strategy, ridicule anyone that tries to take a serious approach to it, but in this case the idea promoted by Fox news has always been to ridicule Al Gore, the liberal politician because he was the first public face that tried addressing the problem. After that, it was full bore denial by the right...it's literally insane.

Natural disasters are never any fun...and as a side note, determining ways of dealing with the trauma created by such events needs real attention, as well. Just like the victims of war.
